How to collect a deposit

Set up partial payment up front to secure an order.

Many bakers require a deposit to confirm an order, especially for larger cakes or events booked well in advance. You can set your default deposit requirement in Settings → Business under Payment Settings.

When creating an invoice, choose Deposit as the payment type and set the percentage. The client sees clearly how much is due now and how much remains before the event.

A 50% deposit is common practice across the industry, but you can set whatever feels right for your business and adjust it per order if needed.
